Job Role and Responsibilities

Research Associate - ADME

Location: Cambridge, UK As a Research Associate in the ADME department, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing all ADME assays with precision and efficiency.
  • Developing methods and collecting data using LC-MS/MS and other modalities (Absorbance/Fluorescence).
  • Supporting new assay development for ADME activities.
  • Analyzing data from enzyme activities (GraphPad Prism, MS-Excel) and MS data (Sciex).
  • Compiling reports and interfacing with collaborators.
  • Coordinating with third-party collaborators for PK studies (animal models).
  • Conducting day-to-day testing and profiling of compounds in cells/protein-based assays.
  • Drafting reports, documenting experiments, and presenting results within the lab and in various forums/meetings.
  • Working closely with other biology group members involved in screening, cell biology, protein biology, and ADME.
  • Contributing to group activities (like ordering, stocking, and follow-ups).

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you should have:
  • An MSc/M.Pharma in Microbiology/Biotechnology.
  • 1-4 years of experience with LC-MS/MS, HPLC, and bio-analytical studies.
  • A solid understanding of laboratory tools, techniques, and methods.
  • Hands-on experience with general biotech laboratory equipment (cell-culture lab, in-vitro and ADME lab).
  • Practical experience with cell culture techniques (established cell lines) and ADME assays (microsomal stability, plasma stability, solubility, permeability, CYP inhibition assays, plasma protein binding assays).
  • The ability to overcome technical challenges and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • High self-motivation to initiate projects and work independently under aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal rapport and the ability to engender trust and respect.
  • The ability to work well as part of a small focused team and build relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills that thrive in a fast-paced and vibrant team environment.
