Job Description
The successful candidate will execute and deliver synthetic chemistry projects on behalf of ABCL and its partners. This includes preparation, purification and characterization of all materials and deliverables. The candidate will perform analytical work, write comprehensive reports, general laboratory upkeep, plan their activities efficiently, purchase chemicals and equipment as needed, and maintain a safe and pleasant working environment.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in organic chemistry with 1-10 years of industry experience. Experience working in a CRO is a plus.
- Synthesize target compounds utilizing a blend of both classical and modern techniques effectively.
- Purification and isolation of organic molecules, including flash chromatography and Combiflash.
- Modify reaction conditions in accord with visual observations to allow rapid, successful production of target compounds.
- Use a broad spectrum of practical laboratory skills as needed; including advanced methods of purification of solvents and reagents, running reactions under anhydrous and oxygen free conditions, and using advanced methods for isolation/purification of sensitive materials.
- Provide accurate and contemporaneous notebook recording.
- Plans work to meet personal project objectives and deadlines; assesses needs and makes changes in process, work flow and/or assignments. Coordinates multiple, concurrent assignments on a multi-faceted research project.
- Basic interpretation and generation of HPLC, LCMS, and HNMR spectra for tracking reaction progress and for characterizing isolated targets.
